Just "playing artist" again.
has some great projects and hints for using water soluble oil pastels.
Found the oil pastels locally and had a little shopping spree.
Everything was on sale.
Both the books were less than the price of any craft magazine and one of them I had borrowed often from the library, so I figured I ought to own it.
If you have landed here by accident you might be wondering
what's happening. All will be explained by Julia at the Stamping Ground.
I'm confused as to how oil pastels can be water soluble?
ReplyDeleteOh, well, have fun playing!
Happy woyww,

Yes, I know. But they are. Truly! Have a look at Leandra's paperartsy blog. She explains better than me and she has lovely examples of stuff she has done with them.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO lucky. I have never seen water soluble oil pastels on sale here in the states. They are so, so expensive, I've never been able to afford them. Glad you got such great deals. Thanks for the visit and I hope you WILL take the class.
ReplyDeleteI love all the stamps in your photo--all are definitely my style! :)

ReplyDeleteyou mean you took it back? is that what you do with them? lol, seriously |Kids never get the hang of you have to return it or you will get a fine, and are always surprised when I have to pay the fine, ggrr!!

I bought some of the Portfolio water soluble pastels from PaperArtsy - ordered on Monday, arrived Tuesday. They are gorgeous, so soft and vibrant but I haven't had time to have a proper play yet. Interested to know what you think about the Reeves pastels and how they work for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm no painter so I would not know about pastels. your pictures look great

Do you know, probably 8 years ago when I had my shop, Lyra were the only water soluble pastels we could get and oh lord, the price! So happy to see how accessible theyve become because they are soo lovely. Like the idea of Art to Wear, are you designing a line?
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of lovely supplies there. I have some pastels and don't use them nearly enough, I may have to check out your link - tfs.
