You know what I mean. It's Wednesday and that means it's time for ...
"What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday",
brought to you by Julia, who is to be found at The Stamping Ground.
Well, a couple of weeks seem to have simply vanished, possibly into cyberspace, but here's my "desk" as of this morning ...
As per usual, it's cluttered with projects that need to be finished!
In between playing with various creations, and pretending to be artistic, I needed something small and very portable to do on a recent trip to the snow, so what better than a snowflake cross-stitch!
And, although I am determined to not buy stuff unless I really do need it,
Lincraft had 40% off storewide last week, so ...
Very restrained, don't you think?
So, what have you been doing? Hoping to visit soon and find out! See you shortly!
Restrained yes, but I bet it still cost a fair bit. Love the colours.
ReplyDeleteSnowflakes seem the perfect choice for you to do when on a trip to snow and the pice looks lovely. I mu,s comment on the book cover in the first photograph, it looks lovely. Did you do it?

I think the lamp is one of those necessary purchases that I logicalise and don't include in my guilt over stash buying!!! Really like the embossed panels on your desk, and the gold ribbon goes so well with that lovely purpley cover. You are busy! And counted cross stitich too - quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteLOVE those textures on your covers/canvases! Hope to see more of them next time! The snowflakes look very pretty! They're going to become more relevant to us as the year progresses, while you're moving the opposite way! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #28
ReplyDeleteHi RosA, lolled at your stash. I'm pretty sure the rule say that anything bought in a sale is permitted, at least I hope it does!Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #9 xxx
ReplyDeleteOH My! Such beautiful pieces. I'm seriously drooling over your panels and book. So very lovely. Your cross-stitch is beautiful as well. I'm with Shaz, if it's on sale it doesn't count. lol. Happy Wednesday. LisaDV #37
ReplyDeleteRestrained, but a sale not to be missed! Lol. Your cross stitch is just beautiful. Hope you get to finish some of your projects - they look great as they are!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week

Well I simply LOVE what projects you have going on on that desk! The covers are smashing! I don't do a whole lot of needle crafting anymore, but this looks like it will be lovely when done! As for your haul, I think you did pretty good! I always go with the best intentions and then something goes horribly wrong and I end up with bags on my arms looking like the cat that caught the canary! LOLOL Happy rest of the week! :) Felicia #42
ReplyDeleteSuch loveliness on your desk and the cross stitch and your purchases. Love it all. Anne x #17
ReplyDeleteA little bit of shopping never hurts and it all looks very useful, so doesn't count as frivolous spending!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour snowflakes are very pretty, as are those book covers. Love the colours.
Hope you enjoyed the snow

Who can resist a sale. I am also trying not to buy new stuff - I need to use what I have. I have been good for 2 days now. ;-) Your cross stitch looks great.

Love, love love those canvas covers you have created. The texture and patterns look gorgeous. I can't resist a sale and it looks like you have picked up some great bargains. Love the looks of the desk light. The cross stitch is beautiful. Will get back to you with a date in October for lunch .... or we could wait until November after the workshop?
ReplyDeletePretending to be artistic?! You are too modest, your work is fabulous. I really do love the snowflakes, it's funny how cross stitch and embroidery have really come into fashion here again. And the stuff you bought was a real bargain - you were very restrained, well done!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe that your sister got given an over locker, blimey, thery're really expensive! But I was even more impressed that you managed to thread it ok - that's serious science, that is!
Hugs, LLJ 14 xxxx
