It's been a few weeks so maybe I will do a "catch up" post for you.
Here's what's on my workspace today.
As usual it's more or less a "mish mash" of just started and half finished bits and pieces.
From left to right, there's a little "canvas" made of leftovers, nearly finished, just waiting on a bit of glueing. It's sitting on a piece of sort of handmade paper that I've been fiddling with and those wood mounted stamps of snowflakes will be used with the altered paper. They stamp very nicely but those clear stamps on top of them do not seem to work very well. (No idea why not.)
And there's another "altered" blue page (for use with the snowflake stamps).
And the Narnia page is almost finished. It is the third last page in the HOH series and will be sent out by the end of the month, so it might actually arrive early, I expect.
Now, because it's Winter here, I have been doing a bit of knitting.
So ... I can show you, not one, but two, finished berets!
If you are interested in the technical details ... they are knitted in 8 ply
(or double knitting) pure wool, on a set of double pointed needles.
Fiddly, but I'm pleased with the end result.
And, finally, here is some "Happy Mail" which arrived a day or so ago ...
It is a brooch made of polymer clay. Isn't it gorgeous?
I also received some other lovely mail from Shaz in Oz but I will save that for next week, because it deserves a special entry.
Well, if you are not bored by now, maybe you would like to visit some more desks?
If so, please visit Julia at the Stamping Ground. Go on, you won't be sorry!
What a fab desk and so many lush projects!! Good to see you back again.
ReplyDeleteI could happily live with a collage of all those stamped squares on my wall - I love them and they go so well together! And I'm really impressed with your berets, you must have soooo much patience to knit with double pointed needles. But the result is well worth it! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the berets - just right for winter. And lovely to see other projects in progress - Hazel WOYWW #65 x
ReplyDeleteAwesome looking items on your desk, love Narnia! Can't wait to see what Shaz sent you....Happy WOYWW
ReplyDeleteMarvellous berets, how clever you are. The clear stamps may be covered in silicone release gunk - try very gently rubbing them with an emery board to rough off the surface a little....works on the more solid styles particularly well. They're too nice to not be worth a try!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a quick trip round the WOYWWers before I start on my next batch of little African dresses. It's great to see what you're busy with this week.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
A x
Lots of goodies here! Great little canvas and love the berets. :)
ReplyDeleteMy but you have been very busy! Lots of lovely things happening on your desk. Love the brooch!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
great looking desk! Love the layouts and papers! I bought those stamps last year myself and they didn't work well at all until I did what Julia suggested and gently sanded them then I used a mat similar to a mouse pad under the paper when I use then to cushion and give a little. They work much better now. Have a great week. Thanks for sharing. Vickie
ReplyDeleteOhh Roslyn, I love everyhting on your desk. The collage is very impressive, the berets are works of art and the HOH page is brill. I am still struggling with the ATC I have glued on so many cogs and wheels I will have to double the postage. Love the little brooch.
ReplyDeleteCould have done with one of those berets on last night! Was it just me or was it cold!!
ReplyDeleteJane loved the card.
Still no internet so I have resorted to staying in lunchtime so I can play catch up with you lovely ladies. I cannot believe I have not been able to go on blogs since Monday - besides not being able to shop!! Arrrrgh!!
So many things on the go and all great. Love the Narnia page. Try what Julia says re the clear stamps. I have lots of that brand and have never had a problem with any of them. Another thing to try is to use Versamark ink as a base and then put your coloured ink on top of that before stamping. Lovely berets too.
