WOYWW a surplus of supplies

The idea that this should be "The Year of Not Buying Lots of Stash" (to add to the already vast accumulation), has flown out the window. Due to various circumstances, there is very little creativity happening at the moment ...

Hopefully, I can finish that knitting this winter. It's perfectly possible. And there's a new pattern off to the right that I would like to try. It uses lace weight 2 ply, and I just happen to have plenty of that ... in the wool stash!

Anyway, you like to have a sticky beak at new stuff, right?  Here 'tis ...

L-R: Modern Moroccan and fence dies, snowflake stamp and large tree background stamp (from Gill's Crafty Cards). TH stencil, snowflake stencil (which looks too delicate to actually use), Happy Birthday die ("enabled" by Julia), Spellbinders border dies ("enabled" by Shazsilverwolf) (from Bizzy Bec's)

L-R: Glimmer Chips and skating scene die - Christmas in July goodies, from my friend!
Tree stencil, Gorjuss stamp and Brilliance Inks ("enabled" by Shaz in Oz).

Now, if only I could find time to play with all of the above!

I am hoping to visit as many woyww desks as possible, but I may not get there for a few days. You can visit them too. We will all be linked up with Julia at her Stamping Ground.

WOYWW more Anniversary goodies

I am waiting for one more ATC, but I am too impatient and I will "show and tell" today :)
Here's today's workdesk (or kitchen table) ...

Not terribly exciting. Just some random watercolour splotchings I did on the weekend. The best bit there is that die which arrived in the mail yesterday, along with my second last ATC. The die was discontinued some years ago (as far as I can figure out). Why would they stop making that lovely die? Anyway, it finally turned up on ebay and I snapped it up :)  (I had almost given up on finding it. So, now, I had better use it, hadn't I?)

But this is what you really want to see ...

6th Anniversary WOYWW ATCs ... and other goodies

Top (L-R) Julia, Eliza, Angela, Mary Anne
Bottom (L-R) Zoe, Morti, Nikki

Top (L-R) LLJ, Cindy, Janet, Margaret
Bottom (L-R) Elizabeth, Shaz (Silverwolf),Chris, Jo

(L-R) Robyn, Debbie, Annie

and Diane.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies! They are all so lovely!
And thank you Julia for organising the main swap via the WOYWW Crop.

For the "how, why, when and where" of  Workdesk Wednesday, why not visit Julia.

* * * * * * *

Apologies to anyone who came by here last Wednesday and was confused (I know I was). I tried (successfully, I thought), to link with Julia via my phone and it all seemed to work swimmingly! But, when I did check the link back from Julia's it went to a random post from last February. Huh?  I managed to enter the correct link a bit later. Interestingly enough, half my visitors went to the February post and only one person (apart from me) actually noticed!

WOYWW the week after

... the big party! And mail is still being sent back and forth between friends ... and countries. So, yesterday, I received a lovely big fat envelope from Julia, chock full of arty goodness! Now I can stop worrying that they've been lost in some intercontinental mail delivery Bermuda triangle :)

I think this is the best photo you will get today, because I haven't had time to have a really good look at them all, so, next week I will let you know who they all came from and give you a better look :)  BTW, if you've sent me an ATC via Julia, and there was not enough to go around at the crop, please let me know and I will very happily send you one.

The end of last week saw a slight flurry of artistic activity. You can see the results here
and here and here too.

And at the weekend, one engagement card was created ...

This really IS better IRL!  The lighting has turned the silver background card pink! How odd!

I'll catch you soon, at your desk or mine.
All desks come to you courtesy of Julia at her Stamping Ground.

WOYWW or what's happening around here

... well, not a lot.
A little bit of new stash ... a very restrained amount, really, hardly anything at all ...

just ... two journals, small packet of Gelatos (see, I was restrained - I could have bought the full colour collection), one Tombow (useful Lamp Black), Tombow colourless blender, three Gelly Roll black pens (who can't use black pens?), Faber Castell Glaze (which I'm hopeful has many uses) and the Judikins Diamond Glaze, also very useful (but so tiny I'd better figure out what it's very best use is!), and look, Tack N Peel which I am hoping will do away with the need for that sticky, icky stamp mounting stuff, you know what I mean, don't you :)

Anyway, that was the other day, so now I've just finished a quick birthday  card. It was only quick because I thought about it for a while instead of randomly pulling out endless paper and stamps, etc. How's that for a bit of forward planning :)

For all those lovely people who drop in on Wednesdays, if I don't catch you today or tomorrow, I'll almost certainly get around to visit by Friday. Have a good week!
WOYWW comes to you courtesy of Julia at the Stamping Ground.

WOYWW don't get complacent

or the chaos will take over again.  So, while you can still see a bit of clear space, I'm feeling rather smug today, because, look, I have made a whole bunch of Christmas cards, using new stash too!

OK, I think I've nearly exhausted this idea. Maybe I'll try those (free with magazine) Indigo Blu stamps you can see just at the top there. Now, for lots and lots more desks and workspaces, some neat and tidy, some chaotic, I recommend you pop along to Julia at the Stamping Ground where everything will be explained.

WOYWW a very happy mail day

I've been busy with the cardboard biscuit carton. You can see what's happening in the post below.

But today I need to show you some lovely Happy Mail which arrived yesterday :)
It is a whole pile of gorgeous stamps from Rubber Dance Art Stamps all the way from Norway!
They came because of this.  I don't have many leaf stamps at all, so they will be a great addition, but they are all very, very nice :)

Oh, and three bundles of nice ribbon - two of them with snowflakes!
Who would have guessed I love all things wintery!

So, this is what's on my desk today, but it won't be there for long, because any minute now (or at least when I get home), I will be stamping up those lovely new stamps!
Hopefully, I will catch you later, on your desk, or mine ... via Julia at the Stamping Ground.
BTW there was a comment or two last week that I couldn't reply to. I don't know why not.

WOYWW the altering of a biscuit box

Now, I need a "deep edge" or "box" canvas for an idea which is brewing away, but I have nothing on hand that's suitable. Maybe, I will buy one next time I'm at the shops, but meanwhile, let's employ some lateral thinking, hence the biscuit box. OK, it's pretty flimsy, so I suppose I will "reinforce" it with some extra cardboard. I won't have to go to any shop for that :)  I can't tell you much about it, at the moment, only because I'm not sure where it's going, but if there's no progress by next Wednesday, then it's probably not happening :) The "rusty" bits to the left were going to play a part, but the scale is all wrong. What would anyone do with a 6" key, seriously?

I received some happy mail today ...

Now wouldn't that make you happy too? :)

And for the eagle eyed, yes, that's my real life, at work, genuinely employed, business desk. I covered the work mess with my happy mail :)

Why are you looking at this? Why am I showing you this?
All will be revealed by Julia at the Stamping Ground.

WOYWW there's snow in them there hills ...

or so the saying goes. Winter here, and it's time to make a "winter themed" birthday card for a good friend.  I tidied rearranged all those pen holders on their swivelling base and collected about 20 or so biros! Yes, biros, ordinary biros! Not particularly useful for arty purposes - they weren't even felt tip pens. (Although, there's plenty of those too.)

Anyway, this is what you came to see, didn't you ...

You can see ... card in making, tissues handy for inconvenient cold, tag from Debbie (see below) and newly broken handle punch. I loved this punch and the cassettes are useless without the handle which I'm sure is long since obsolete :( :( :(

And even though I was nowhere near the WOYWW crop, in fact, I was thousands of miles away, and likely to remain so, Debbie at Tattered Rocks sent me this lovely tag which she made ...
Don't you wish you were at the WOYWW crop :)

Here's where you'll get the full story on this desk business.

WOYWW more Anniversary ATCs

The first pic is earlier today, and a warning should be issued,
it's not good viewing for those who need everything neat.
No, that is just not happening here ...

and, yes, I am standing on a chair to give you the usual bird's eye view.
However, a short time later, feeling guilty about the mess, and with many layers about to collapse, I did tidy just enough for you to see my latest WOYWW Anniversary ATCs, received in the last couple of days ...

lovely card with a unique parchment craft (Pergamano) ATC
 from Margaret, (Glitter and Glue)

and two pretty ATCs (with their clever, recycled cardboard holder) from Chrysalis.

That's all the desk fun for now! Catch you via Julia's Stamping Ground

WOYWW birthday celebration continues

And there's more cause to celebrate, because I've finally stopped fluffing around, and all 5th Anniversary ATCs will go in the mail on my way home from work today. So, late but not forgotten and I hope the recipients will think the wait was worth it :)

So ... what can you see ... the ATCs and lovely cards I have already received ...

Gorgeous ATCs (and cards too!) from Eliza, Andrea, Sandra and Robyn.

And lovely hand sewn ATCs from Annie and Jo, (alias Wipso and Twiglet).

I had to rearrange things so you could see them all,
so not really a "candid" workspace shot, but you get the picture :)

What's all this about?

WOYWW Merry Christmas and Happy Mail Day

Nothing creative happening here at the moment.
However, I do have some happy mail day deliveries to share with you ...

On the left is a set of Shiva Paintstiks brought back from the US of A by Sandra.
Many thanks Sandra :)
I've been wanting these for ages, can't wait to play with them :)
And on the right is a delivery of three lovely stamps and two new dies.
Merry Christmas to me :)
Looking forward to using all of these very shortly.

Merry Christmas to you and many thanks
who brings you WOYWW every week.

WOYWW production line art and more happy mail

Here's an "overview" of the latest project which I mentioned last week. It's a collaborative book swap, subject "birds" (see below), and I have set up a production muddle line which I'm sure would horrify any real "time and motion" expert! Here 'tis ...

A picture is still worth a thousand (well at least a hundred) words,
so I won't bore you with the details, I think it's self explanatory  (see below).

If the above is of little interest maybe you would like to see some more happy mail, courtesy of Julia's 4th Anniversary celebration of WOYWW.

"Time Flies" from Annette and on the right two ATCs and a pretty card from RosC.
Still expecting a couple more ATCs. You will see them when they arrive.

Notes: "birds" would not be my choice because I'm not partial to them fluttering around and invading my personal space, although I don't mind the odd Kookaburra sitting sedately on my clothesline, as they often do!
And if you are even remotely interested in how I have made anything, techniques, products, etc, please feel free to ask for more details.

OK, must dash and see what's happening on other desks.

WOYWW new project & more mail

Look, it's Wednesday again, and you know what that means. Time for, (now pay attention, because I'm normally too lazy to spell it out in full)  ...  What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
Julia will give you all the details. So, here it is ...

You can see miscellaneous bits and pieces that I intend to use for a new project, a collaborative book swap with a bird theme. I've just started today. Stay tuned.
And there is a lovely ATC from Bella all the way from South Africa. Here's a close up ...

See you later.

WOYWW happy mail day

Following on from last week's 4th Anniversary of WOYWW,
which you can find out all about over at Julia's,
here are some lovely ATCs which have arrived from
Sandra and  Helen.

Sandra's ATCs came attached to a lovely watercolour bookmark which she also made.
As you can see, I have a few extra ATCs if anyone would like to swap.

(I've made a lot of use of that gel medium lately so there is no point in putting it away at the moment, or, maybe, ever.)

Catch up with you soon, maybe at a desk or two, or three.

WOYWW back again ...

... at last. The magical world of the www has been somewhat unreliable lately, (see below*)
Hopefully, a new ISP (as of today), will remedy that. So, what's happening around here ...

... just playing with one of those little books (another one) made of glimmermist oversprays. Anyone else might have just discarded them, but I'm too mesmerised by the pretty colours creative possibilities. There's that new tassel stamp. (I did tell you I'd been wanting one for ages :) didn't I?)  And look at my lovely card and ATC from Sandra.
(Oh, and you can probably just see what looks like a template for patchwork, and no, I'm not going to take to my sewing machine in any serious way, but I'll let you know, when, and IF, anything becomes of it.)

What's all this about? It's just a bit of Wednesday Whimsy, officially known as ...
"What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday",
the brainchild of Julia over at the Stamping Ground.

Apology: if you've left a comment recently and I wasn't able to catch up with you, see above*

WOYWW backgrounds and happy mail

Look! It's time for WOYWW again! I've missed a couple of weeks, they must be around here somewhere.  No time for idle chit chat ... here's what's sort of happening ... those backgrounds that I started a while ago have had another layer added to them ...

and yesterday saw the arrival of some lovely happy mail ...

Doing this computer stuff via the magic of a mobile phone so I think I'll just quit while I'm ahead!

Catch you soon, somewhere in the wonderful world of WOYWW.

WOYWW happy mail day

OK, so there's really nothing to show today, because my desk looks almost exactly the same as it did last week, so I thought you might like to see what arrived in the mail the other day ...
lots of stuff I need(Not shouting, just want you to understand that I really, really need more stuff essential supplies.)

For people who are actually doing clever things with their stuff,
rather than just admiring it, go here.

WOYWW ... Happy mail and a domestic miracle

Here's the "desk", "workspace" aka "domestic miracle" ...

This doesn't look like my normal desk disaster, does it?
Did the housekeeping elves come by?
No, they certainly did not. It's ... All My Own Work.
(Although how I shall ever find anything ever again is a mystery.)

Now, if you would like to see some real interesting
workspaces (where the art supplies haven't vanished)
just go here now.

And, now for the happy mail.

A lovely floral canvas from Sandra.

WOYWW 19 October and some Happy Mail

Hello Wednesday WOYWWers!
(and anyone else who has stumbled across my blog space!)

Here's today's "desk disaster" ...

As usual, there's more than a couple of things happening.
Some "altered" stuff which is being turned into key chains or
luggage labels or just tags to hang off stuff ... hmmm,
maybe Christmas tree decorations are in order?
(If that happens, I will give them away ... ?)  Don't pegs make wonderful clamps?
There's a little artist notebook waiting to be "altered" and there's a new watercolour notepad. (A5 and made from quality German paper ... well, that's what it says, will test it out shortly.) See that Jo Sonja's Binder Medium ... haven't used it for a while, but it made quite good glue/sealer for those tags and didn't dry tacky, so that's a plus!

But wait, look, there's more!
Here's my desk, at work, this morning ...

a lovely, fabulous parcel in the mail from
with punches and bling that will be the envy
of my sk8nski friends, hehe!
And by now, you are perhaps wondering what this WOYWW thing is,
please go visit with Julia and she will send you on a world-wide
"desk dash"!

WOYWW 14 September

Hi there,
It's Wednesday, so you know what that means ...
time for a world-wide Wednesday desk journey
so to start with, here's mine

Working around, from bottom left, there is a page I received for my Houses of History book (Art Deco theme ... I will show you them all when I have received the last one), BUT, that plastic slide mailer detached while in the postal system and I have tried glueing it back with Weldbond, to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what else I can try?
Above the pink camellia is a lovely card from Sandra and one of her Steampunk ATCs. Aren't they great? In front of the ATC is some more el cheapo jewellery (can't resist it) for some as yet unknown project! And behind the red camellia is a new box of mini gel pens, yum yum! (You can't have too many gel pens ... can you?).  Front right is another unfinished HOH page. (Only two more to go!)
(Camellias are courtesy of my garden.)

And if, by any chance, you are wondering where I have been ...

Yes, that's snow in them there hills!
Now, please go and visit Julia who is the mastermind behind the desk peeking idea.
