The reading involves the new book there, and I do mean reading, not just looking at all the pretty pics, which is tempting. And I am thinking of actually following the instructions for some of the techniques, especially one which involves pretend encaustic, using materials which I already have, and does not involve nasty fumes and high temperatures. That's got to be a plus, right? All those odd papers have come out of a folder (which is aptly named "Glimmermist backgrounds". So now you think I am organised? Hehehe!) And a bit more thinking in regard to ATCs for an upcoming event! You know what I'm talking about, don't you? If you don't, then you need to visit Julia, over at her Stamping Ground.
I always try, for the most part, to keep these posts short, but interesting ... I hope?
So, I am happy to answer questions, if you like to ask them.
Happy WOYWW! I'm off to sneak a peek at your desk now!

ReplyDeletePS. Love the virtual book shelf! Now following you..
Yes Ros, always interesting and as I never follow my own advice about post length, you are a wonderful example! I don't know, that'll be twice I know of that you've followed instructions! I have made a pathetic start on my ATcs..really need to get in the swing of them again. Here I am: 1 Stoney Cross, Ludgershall, Wilts, SP11 9SH,UK - you do not have to send me anything, even if it's made from glimmer mist backgrounds, to get a badge, you know that? Still, I've never been known to say 'no' to that sort of idea!!
ReplyDeleteYour desk is still looking very healthy, clean and tidy. The book looks and sounds so interesting. You will have to bring it along for the annual lunch. I am counting sleeps to the weekend workshop.

Pretty, Pretty backgrounds. Love your short post, have lots of catching up to do this week. Thanks for stopping by, I love all the glimmer mists and now the new GLAM..enjoy the fun and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you had puzzle pieces all over the place. Great looking papers for ATCs. and wow, reading the text in the crafting book instead of just figuring it out from the pictures. Color me impressed!
ReplyDeleteRos, thank you SO much for your input about my camera dilemma. I really, really appreciate it because right now I'm at a loss for what I want. When I was an undergrad, I took a class in black and white, then color photography. I was always a good photographer, because I "mentally" cropped my images before I shot them. Like you, this was back in the days of SLRs that were heavy, had lots of fun filters and lenses, and used film. I never used the auto setting on my Konica cameras, so when I was given an old digital camera, I took it gratefully and pulled myself into the digital age.
ReplyDeleteBut I truly believe I am a much better photographer than my horrible camera and futile Photoshop correction effects convey. So I am most grateful for your advice. Thank you!!
