WOYWW more ATC fun

Well, today was my lucky day! Just when I was beginning to think that the rest of my swapped ATCs had vanished on their long journey to the land down under ... they all arrived together, this morning :)  So, let's get my rather boring work space out of the way first ...

As is often the case, I'm just fiddling around, making cards from random stamped images, matching them up with random backgrounds I've made. There's a pencil case filled with Most Useful Tools, easy to grab 'n' go for the long weekend just gone.  Unfortunately, it was missing one tool I find Absolutely Essential, a fine pair of tweezers, so, I must learn to put them back in there.

Shaz Silverwolf
lovely colours and stamping, with very appropriate sentiment
arrived a couple of days ago, but there was a long weekend without internet involved :)

Neet
Ha ha - Spooky Cat :) Spooky Bird :)!

Angela
a lovely "triple ATC" using one of her clever Masterboards

Lynne
a lovely ATC using tiny watch parts!

and some extra goodies from Lynne too :)

Thank you, lovely ladies, for swapping!
(Hoping all mine have arrived with you too. Please let me know if they haven't.)

I'll see you sooner, or later, via Lunch Lady Jan's..

WOYWW comes around every Wednesday

But you already knew that, and that's why you are here. As usual, there's more than a few things going on at the moment. I don't know whether I should confess to having the attention span of a firefly or maybe I've just got far too many ideas rattling around in my head. (I'd own up to the latter, if I thought they were genius ideas, but I don't think that's the case.)

I'm calling that (pink) page spread finished. See post below for explanation :)
Playing with some new dies. At last ... those Australiana dies ... an early birthday present! Yay!
And they will make super ATCs ,,, for you know what :)  New stuff ... Liquitex Iridescent Medium, because Jo Sonja's Iridescent acrylic paints are totally unavailable.

Doing the fabulous Wanderlust online course this year has resulted in many (as yet) unfinished background pages, as per the one above. And here's a few more ...

Let's catch up via Julia's Stamping Ground.  I may take a while to do all the visiting I would like to do but we're not in a hurry, are we?

WOYWW more Anniversary goodies

I am waiting for one more ATC, but I am too impatient and I will "show and tell" today :)
Here's today's workdesk (or kitchen table) ...

Not terribly exciting. Just some random watercolour splotchings I did on the weekend. The best bit there is that die which arrived in the mail yesterday, along with my second last ATC. The die was discontinued some years ago (as far as I can figure out). Why would they stop making that lovely die? Anyway, it finally turned up on ebay and I snapped it up :)  (I had almost given up on finding it. So, now, I had better use it, hadn't I?)

But this is what you really want to see ...

6th Anniversary WOYWW ATCs ... and other goodies

Top (L-R) Julia, Eliza, Angela, Mary Anne
Bottom (L-R) Zoe, Morti, Nikki

Top (L-R) LLJ, Cindy, Janet, Margaret
Bottom (L-R) Elizabeth, Shaz (Silverwolf),Chris, Jo

(L-R) Robyn, Debbie, Annie

and Diane.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies! They are all so lovely!
And thank you Julia for organising the main swap via the WOYWW Crop.

For the "how, why, when and where" of  Workdesk Wednesday, why not visit Julia.

* * * * * * *

Apologies to anyone who came by here last Wednesday and was confused (I know I was). I tried (successfully, I thought), to link with Julia via my phone and it all seemed to work swimmingly! But, when I did check the link back from Julia's it went to a random post from last February. Huh?  I managed to enter the correct link a bit later. Interestingly enough, half my visitors went to the February post and only one person (apart from me) actually noticed!

WOYWW the week after

... the big party! And mail is still being sent back and forth between friends ... and countries. So, yesterday, I received a lovely big fat envelope from Julia, chock full of arty goodness! Now I can stop worrying that they've been lost in some intercontinental mail delivery Bermuda triangle :)

I think this is the best photo you will get today, because I haven't had time to have a really good look at them all, so, next week I will let you know who they all came from and give you a better look :)  BTW, if you've sent me an ATC via Julia, and there was not enough to go around at the crop, please let me know and I will very happily send you one.

The end of last week saw a slight flurry of artistic activity. You can see the results here
and here and here too.

And at the weekend, one engagement card was created ...

This really IS better IRL!  The lighting has turned the silver background card pink! How odd!

I'll catch you soon, at your desk or mine.
All desks come to you courtesy of Julia at her Stamping Ground.

WOYWW Anniversary Week 312

If you've just landed here accidentally, then you will probably be wondering what this all about. And the best person to give you all the details would be Julia and you will find her at The Stamping Ground.

Domestic renovations and repairs have left little time recently to join in with any challenges, but I do have two in mind which I might be able to finish in the next day or so ... hopefully ... if I neglect everything else :)  There's my first cup of tea, the one which comes before my second cup of tea, which both come before breakfast. And there's a blob of gel medium sitting too close to that cup of tea, and yes, I very nearly glued the cup to the scrap paper. The gel medium is necessary to glue those little die cut roses into a proper rose shape. They start off flat ...

... and they are quite fiddly to make, but well worth the effort :)

This reminds me of the first WOYWW Anniversary when everyone who participated sent something handmade to the next person. (ATCs are much more convenient for posting.) And I received a beautiful decorated box, full of (genuinely) handmade flowers from Cardarian.  I still have lots of them ... they are too nice to use!

I'll be joining in with the WOYWW Anniversary ATC swap, but I have a few extras if anyone else would like to swap. See you soon.

WOYWW cropping or swapping?

Well, I'm not cropping but I am swapping.

Too many domestic distractions (evidence below*), have resulted in very little creative time this month but I have managed to make some ATCs for the 6th Anniversary of woyww.  I will get them in the mail to Julia any minute now, and hopefully the postman will deliver them via supersonic jet not slow boat. So, let's keep this short and sweet ...

I'm using everything on the table, except all those bright coloured pens.
They're just eye candy :)  If you are a regular visitor, then you might notice that the "desk mess" has found a new home. Here is where it used to be ...

*Can you spot the difference?

If you would like to swap ATCs for the woyww Anniversary, especially if you are going to the woyww crop, please leave a message. Catch you later.
WOYWW comes to you courtesy of Julia's Stamping Ground.

WOYWW ATCs for Anniversary Swap

I've too many ideas, as usual, and too little time, also as usual, but I will definitely come to the WOYWW Anniversary Party, which happens any day now, or it will seem like that, anyway :)

If the planets all align, I intend to send a batch of ATCs off to Julia before the WOYWW Crop, which, unfortunately, is just a bit too far away to attend :(
Please let me know if you would like to swap. (I'm happy to send directly to you, if you are also not going to the WOYWW Crop.)

So, my workspace is self-explanatory.
However, that stamped image (bottom middle) of the pretty flowers might be the last one, because I have (without a shadow of a doubt), lost the stamp! How? Who knows? But it has definitely vanished! And I really want it, so if you happen to know where I can get another (Hero Arts "Delicate Blossoms") please let me know :)

Hope to catch you sooner or later, on a desk near or far.
Please visit Julia at the Stamping Ground to see what this is all about :)

WOYWW cards, stamps ... and more

A few projects on the go at the same time ... as per usual ...

New stamps on the left ... other new stamps on the right.
Those three cards are not having any large bits stuck down until I find the energy to unpack
(and find somewhere to put), a borrowed Xyron 900.
And that die cut snowflake glued to the plastic lid of a used container is my latest attempt at handmade stamps. So far, so good. I also gave in and bought those Distress Paints to try out. Again, so far, so good! Here's what I did with them ...

more nice backgrounds, I suppose? (Used with the stamps above right.)

And one last WOYWW Anniversary ATC arrived from Debbie (Tattered Rocks)

Well, it's the end of the financial year here, and the paperwork is calling.
Catch you soon, courtesy of Julia at her Stamping Ground.

WOYWW more Anniversary ATCs

The first pic is earlier today, and a warning should be issued,
it's not good viewing for those who need everything neat.
No, that is just not happening here ...

and, yes, I am standing on a chair to give you the usual bird's eye view.
However, a short time later, feeling guilty about the mess, and with many layers about to collapse, I did tidy just enough for you to see my latest WOYWW Anniversary ATCs, received in the last couple of days ...

lovely card with a unique parchment craft (Pergamano) ATC
 from Margaret, (Glitter and Glue)

and two pretty ATCs (with their clever, recycled cardboard holder) from Chrysalis.

That's all the desk fun for now! Catch you via Julia's Stamping Ground

WOYWW birthday celebration continues

And there's more cause to celebrate, because I've finally stopped fluffing around, and all 5th Anniversary ATCs will go in the mail on my way home from work today. So, late but not forgotten and I hope the recipients will think the wait was worth it :)

So ... what can you see ... the ATCs and lovely cards I have already received ...

Gorgeous ATCs (and cards too!) from Eliza, Andrea, Sandra and Robyn.

And lovely hand sewn ATCs from Annie and Jo, (alias Wipso and Twiglet).

I had to rearrange things so you could see them all,
so not really a "candid" workspace shot, but you get the picture :)

What's all this about?

WOYWW ... Happy WOYWW Anniversary

Well, here we are, all getting together for the 5th Anniversary of WOYWW
... the worldwide weekly desk roundup!

Short and sweet, the way Julia likes it. (And I do too.)
Nothing much has been happening here due to another little trip,
this time north to sunnier climes. Maybe I will put up a few pics, later.

There's a lovely card and two ATCs already received, but only partly revealed
(don't want to spoil any surprises). If you zoom in and your name is scribbled there,
then you are on my ATC list.
(And hopefully, they will be in the mail shortly.)

WOYWW it's ATC time ...

because, it's nearly WOYWW Anniversary time ... again! So, in the interests of recycling, upcycling and finishing off some previous ATC creations, I thought maybe I could have a look at my folder of "Almost Finished ATCs", which contains, as the name suggests, lots and lots of ATCs! Now some of these are half finished but most just need a little something to make them completely finished! And, as an added bonus, most of them will then be original, one-offs and if you are taking part in the WOYWW Anniversary ATC swap, maybe you would like one? Let me know in the comments if you would like to swap.

Hope to catch you soon, on your desk or mine.
WOYWW comes to you courtesy of Julia at the Stamping Ground.

WOYWW wondering where the week went

I guess I nodded off, or something, as I'm sure it was only Wednesday just yesterday.
Here's another layer on top of everything you saw last week. OK, I may have just moved things aside, a bit. Working on some ATCs for swapping this weekend ...

All the usual stuff still there ... but there are some new Tombows (I know, they are so yesterday, or so I have been told) but at $1 ea how could I possibly resist stocking up?

Maybe I'll catch up with you this fine Wednesday? For all the WOYWW details pop over to see Julia at her desk.

Oh, I nearly forgot, if you were interested in seeing how that Collaborative BIRD BOOK Swap ended, have a look at the post below.

WOYWW new project & more mail

Look, it's Wednesday again, and you know what that means. Time for, (now pay attention, because I'm normally too lazy to spell it out in full)  ...  What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
Julia will give you all the details. So, here it is ...

You can see miscellaneous bits and pieces that I intend to use for a new project, a collaborative book swap with a bird theme. I've just started today. Stay tuned.
And there is a lovely ATC from Bella all the way from South Africa. Here's a close up ...

See you later.

WOYWW happy mail day

Following on from last week's 4th Anniversary of WOYWW,
which you can find out all about over at Julia's,
here are some lovely ATCs which have arrived from
Sandra and  Helen.

Sandra's ATCs came attached to a lovely watercolour bookmark which she also made.
As you can see, I have a few extra ATCs if anyone would like to swap.

(I've made a lot of use of that gel medium lately so there is no point in putting it away at the moment, or, maybe, ever.)

Catch up with you soon, maybe at a desk or two, or three.

WOYWW 4th Anniversary

Welcome to the 4th Anniversary of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday,
our weekly round-the-world desk display day,
brought to you by Julia at the Stamping Ground.

Let's keep this really short and simple this week, and then we will have lots of time to visit more desks, right? You can see some ATCs about ready to be posted, so, apart from the person whose name (with asterisk), appears below mine, I will have a few spares. If you would like to swap please leave a message in a comment (with link to your postal address).

Happy Anniversary WOYWWers!

WOYWW Please don't eat the food colouring dye

Well, you could have, but not since I added it to the shaving cream ...

I know, it's pretty basic, but I have never actually tried it before. Results of first attempts (above), hmm, OK, but those food colouring dyes aren't very exciting, are they? Lets try some acrylic paint, some Glimmermist, some alcohol inks ... yes, that's better! More later.

The above pic is "around the corner" from my usual stuff. So here's that as well ...

And yes, there's that journal again. Still playing with pretty backgrounds, ho hum.
And the beginnings of some ATCs for the WOYWW swap.

Oh, and if nobody gives you any creative stuff for your birthday, buy your own ...

Catch you over at Julia's.

WOYWW "baby, it's cold outside"

That's because it's winter and that Mini Snow Album is going to be finished!
It's a present and there is the card which I have made to go with it.

The little canvasses on the right are inspired by my workshop with Tim Holtz
a couple of weeks ago.

And look!
The last ATCs have arrived for the 3rd Birthday of WOYWW ...

from Morti (left) and Vickie (right).

And if you are either of the two people I am still sending ATCs to ... they are now in the mail.

Now if you stumbled here by accident or intent and you don't know about WOYWW, then I encourage you to visit Julia over at the Stamping Ground and everything will be explained.

WOYWW I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date

A bit of an exaggeration, but world wide web access was severely limited yesterday and I was going to miss WOYWW. However, my first ATC arrived this morning, from Tuire all the way from Finland.  So ... here's a late entry for this week's WOYWW ...

On my work area you can see leftovers from WOYWW ATC making and also some ATCs received in a local swap just recently. And that birthday card will be late (if it goes at all!)

And here is my ATC from Tuire, complete with Finnish dictionary packaging. Isn't it lovely!

Have a lovely week and please visit Julia at The Stamping Ground
to see many more interesting workdesks!

WOYWW 3rd Anniversary

Congratulations Julia and fellow WOYWWers from places near and far!
I wasn't around when WOYWW began, but I hitched a ride with you all in Jan 2011 and that doesn't seem all that long ago! Time flies when you visit your WOYWW friends and their desks.

Today's workspace offering might be hiding some left over ATC bits and pieces. That little pile of "travelling art supplies" was taken away on a short holiday last week in case some sort of artistic inspiration struck. Guess what, it didn't.

(Oh, and, if you are not the person that I will automatically send my ATC to,
but you would like to swap, please contact me and maybe we can do a deal.)
