You know, I'm not into the latest gadget or "must have" craft item. It took me years to decide that a Cuttlebug could be a useful gadget. And it is, of course! But when the most marvellous stamping positioner tool was brought out (for mega $$$), I thought "Well, that's something I don't need". And I still don't. But when I bought those Altenew layering stamps I could see a use for it. I can stamp them reasonably ok, but the stamping positioner thingy would help stamp them perfectly. Not one to pass on the possibility of perfection, I was happy to buy one of the "look alike" stamping positioners, for a fraction of the price! It works perfectly! (Those flowers have four separate layers on them!)
I am one happy stamping camper!
And here's a card I made the other day ...
Reasonably quick and simple.
(I am not going to agonise for ages over cards when I'm pretty sure they are just going to be discarded.)
Joining up with Julia for WOYWW. Hope to see you there.
Certainly highlights the versatility of the stamp and the tool. Well done😀

ReplyDeleteHi there Ros, well loving the card, surely they dont discard home made.
ReplyDelete.. I've some folk trained so they just lift out my insert and add a clean insert of plain paper and reuse them. 😊
Love your stamp positioner and good value too, well done.
Happy WOYWW! Thanks for sharing,

The flowers are lovely and it certainly shows the usefulness of the positioning tool - like you I've been saying I don't need one! The card is gorgeous too, I love the stamped image.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week,

Hi RosA, good to hear the 'lookalike' works as well, I'd looked at the MISTI, but as you say, VERY expensive, and had seen a cheaper version was around, so am intending to get myself one of those when they are available over here. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #8 xxx
ReplyDeleteLoving the stamp set you have there,

The MISTI cost is prohibitive but It's good to know the copycat does a good job too.Happy WOYWW Elaine No. 37
ReplyDeletePleased your new toy is good. It was just after I bought the Misti (which I didn't do without a lot of thought) that I saw the copies. I do not regret buying the Misti but do wish it had been cheaper, have fun. Happy crafty woyww, Angela x 19
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I love the layering and the lace at the edge of the card. Wonderful colours.

ReplyDeletecard is fab! glad you got a cheaper version of the misti. Helen #2
ReplyDeleteThe Misti is on my wish list for Christmas - where is yours from? They are awfully expensive! Your card is lovely! I like the die cut sentiment - I don't have any of these! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #47
ReplyDeleteIt's funny what you can do without isn't it? I decluttered my kitchen utensils before moving in the summer, as I use very little really but what I do have are good quality. It's the same with crafting, apart from fabric and haberdashery, I have very little stuff. As long as my scissors are sharp, I'm happy. Oh and I'm good at replacing the needles on my machine too!

Hi Ros. Hey, surely folk don't throw away what you have so carefully made??! I keep all the cards which have been handmade, and have many of them in an album. Not all cos I need another album!! I like that card - I have the same die for the happy birthday - and I love the colour mix. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Hello and now I can see how you get those layers down perfectly. I am always impressed how you find a tool that does the job at the best price. No woyww for me. Busy with work, nephew's wedding and getting out of Sydney for the weekend. Have a good week.

I love your card - I definitely wouldn't be able to throw it away! It would be an absolute travesty! Sometimes we have to treat ourselves, even if we don't necessarily need something - buy it if it makes you happy, I say! Happy belated WOYWW! zsuzsa #30
ReplyDeleteI've been very curious about the stamp positioners, but can't bring myself to spend the money on one... Have a great week! ~Heather~ WOYWW #51
