WOYWW what happened to March?

Seriously, what did happen to March? Did it just up and march away?
Things remain much the same here ... a small amount of creativity amongst the chaos ...

Well, there's the chaos with the most recent and very small amount of creativity, a simple birthday card (cut and paste, cut and paste, although I did add more gold bling to the existing gold bling). Anyway, not happy with it, can do better ... will do better (by Saturday ... nothing like a deadline to get the creative juices flowing, right?)

I haven't been entirely at a standstill. Went to a class recently given by Rachel Greig (of Darkroom Door fame) and made some rather nice cards, using some new products and interesting techniques.
Here they are ...

Oh, and of course, you really wanted to see the most recent retail therapy, didn't you?

That's all self-explanatory, isn't it?
Except for that papery stuff at the bottom, which is GEN-U-INE American
deli paper!   What's all this about?
Why don't you visit Julia at her Stamping Ground

WOYWW oil painting - maybe

I have been playing with my Shiva Paintstiks
which are oil paints in stick form. I am really liking them!

Some have already been put through the Cuttlebug, top left.
I don't think you can see the lovely iridescent effect, can you?
So, here is a close up ...

Now, I'm off to visit some other desks courtesy of Julia's Stamping Ground.
Maybe I will see you there.

WOYWW New Year New Stuff

Happy New Year  WOYWWers!

I think I showed you my Shiva Paintstiks last time but so far all I have done is admire them, from afar, so to speak. Anyway, time to at least open the pack and try the colours! Look ...

I don't think you can see the lovely iridescent effect, can you? OK, you'll just have to trust me when I say it is very nice! Some handy hints recommend that you use a sharp blade to remove the outer coating (which stops them from drying out) but I found it came off quite easily when I just started pressing on the paper.
I then used those stencil brushes to get the muted effect around the edges.
(Miscellaneous stuff still hanging around ... travelling watercolours which got a workout over the Christmas break, (I'll show you later), along with new stamps (top right) and some acrylics used the other day. Yes, I should put them all away ... right now.)

I'll see you soon, on a desk near you, compliments of Julia at the Stamping Ground.

NOTE: I meant to tell you that the Shiva Paintstiks are known as Markal Paintstiks in the UK.

WOYWW Merry Christmas and Happy Mail Day

Nothing creative happening here at the moment.
However, I do have some happy mail day deliveries to share with you ...

On the left is a set of Shiva Paintstiks brought back from the US of A by Sandra.
Many thanks Sandra :)
I've been wanting these for ages, can't wait to play with them :)
And on the right is a delivery of three lovely stamps and two new dies.
Merry Christmas to me :)
Looking forward to using all of these very shortly.

Merry Christmas to you and many thanks
who brings you WOYWW every week.
