It will be another reverse canvas. I rather like these, as you get a frame and an instant 3D effect :) I'm using Gelatos (both lost and new ones), some die cutting (new fence die), and a lovely leaf stamp from Rubber Dance Art Stamps. I also managed to use H20s, watercolour paints and (new) Brilliance Pearlescent Ink Pads. Oh, and the canvas itself was just a recycled frame (thanks Sandra), looking for a new home. I glued a piece of very heavy duty cardboard on to it :)
I'll show you when it is finished :)
Now, if fabric is not your thing, I'll say "goodbye" now, but I told Zsuzsa I would show her my Batik fabric stash ...
There's a couple of metres of each of the above.
and 40 x 10" squares above.
I bought them, (in a fit of madness, of course), when my fabric-addicted sister was ordering from the USA. I have no idea what I intended to do with them, but Zsuzsa's fabric covered book might give me some ideas :) :)
(Don't think I am really up for a patchwork quilt project!)
OK, that's all for now, hope to catch you either here at my desk, or there, at yours.
So, I'm off to see Julia at her Stamping Ground.

Ooooh, lovely fabrics on show today!! I was lusting after Zsuzsa's batiks too...funnily enough, I don't have any of those at all. I think it's because I never know what to use them for.
ReplyDeleteI love your Autumn canvas, gorgeous colours - and I also share your antipathy for Halloween :-)

Hi Ros, your framed autumn artwork is fabulous - great fence die - I had to make one from thin card strips for a recent card. You must use those gorgeous batik fabrics - a journal cover would be a super idea. Have a great week RobynO#35
ReplyDeleteHi RosA! Thanks for sharing the batiks! Yumm! There's something about batik that makes me swoon! Those patterns and colours are just wonderful! I think I like them so much because they are irregular and unpredictable - a bit like mixed media arts. Your reversed canvas looks amazing! I love it! I would like to take a closer look at it when it's finished! Have a great week! zsuzsa #34
ReplyDeleteHi RosA. Lovely start to your Autumn project. It's going to be gorgeous. I'm not at all into Hallowe'en, either - don't celebrate it, don't give out sweets or encourage youngsters, on a dark night, to come knock on my door saying "trick or treat". But Autumn - now that's different - I just adore the richness of the colours - and this year, here in Britain, they are more glorious than they have been for ages...
ReplyDeleteThat batik fabric is so beautiful. As my hubby says - "the good thing is, it won't go off" - so it doesn't matter if it site there for ages waiting your inspiration!
Take care. God bless.

ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. So much wonderful craftiness - and fabric stash. Enjoy the rest of your week. Ali x #37
ReplyDeleteWow you can really make a frame come to life. Love those dies and stamp. I was admiring Zsuzsa fabrics last week and I can't believe you would also have an amazing stash of fabrics. Your craft space must be an aladdin's cavern! Looking forward to show and tell plus lunch in November.

Hi Ros,
ReplyDeleteI've been scrolling down doing some catch up of last few weeks whilst not blogging.
1. Mm, saw the Ken Oliver thingys demoed at show, so wanted some but had already spent enough and decided a while back was NOT going to get some, as figured have other mediums enough I dont play with... but love your backgrounds.
They were still too dear I reckon. where did you get them?
2. Glad you found the gelatos.. :D frequently put things in those really safe places.
3. Have the same large *yawn* for Halloween, so do not like and it and if someone posts on it and need to return a comment I just scroll down.. as far as I can sometimes. Do like to be genuine in what I say.
4. Reverse canvasses, well must admit they have not come on my radar before (yes, which rock am I hiding under) but love what you have done here ... really great effect.
5. Mm, you could use some of those really great coloured batik squares as background with great effect on cards or such.. would look great and instant amazing colour, add a sentiment and you're done!
Thanks so much for popping over.

I am with you on the fabric - I have loads and I don't use. It could get to 'paper stroking' addiction size if I was not careful. I too love Zsuzsa's books but have not got around to using any of my stash yet.
ReplyDeleteLove what you are working on at the moment. Even though i do like Halloween I love autumn and its colours - not enough hours in a day for me.
Hugs, Neet xx 1
I love your autumn scene - such a gorgeous colour palette, and I love the tree and leaves too. Just beautiful! Thanks for stopping by mine earlier and hope you have a great week,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll keep an eye out for the Metallic sharpies. Are yours a broad point or a fine? I have gold and silver in the broad tips I haven't gone near the other colors. LOL I'm a color hoarder. I love your reversed canvas. Very nice. Enjoy your summer... as I sit here watching golden leaves fall from the Maple tree outside my window. Creative Blessings! Kelly #47
