WOYWW Spring into Autumn

Here, Down Under, Spring is rapidly turning into summer and a lot of the interesting blog challenge sites, which I guess are all northern hemisphere based, (do let me know if you know of any which aren't), seem to be concentrating on Halloween themes (yawn).  So I was pleased to see that Bibi (Rubber Dance Stamps), in Norway, has an Autumn colour/theme challenge this month. I haven't managed to join in for ages, so ...

It will be another reverse canvas. I rather like these, as you get a frame and an instant 3D effect :) I'm using Gelatos (both lost and new ones), some die cutting (new fence die), and a lovely leaf stamp from Rubber Dance Art Stamps.  I also managed to use H20s, watercolour paints and (new) Brilliance Pearlescent Ink Pads. Oh, and the canvas itself was just a recycled frame (thanks Sandra), looking for a new home. I glued a piece of very heavy duty cardboard on to it :)
I'll show you when it is finished :)

Now, if fabric is not your thing, I'll say "goodbye" now, but I told Zsuzsa I would show her my Batik fabric stash ...

There's a couple of metres of each of the above.

and 40 x 10" squares above.

I bought them, (in a fit of madness, of course), when my fabric-addicted sister was ordering from the USA.    I have no idea what I intended to do with them, but Zsuzsa's fabric covered book might give me some ideas :)  :)
(Don't think I am really up for a patchwork quilt project!)

OK, that's all for now, hope to catch you either here at my desk, or there, at yours.
So, I'm off to see Julia at her Stamping Ground.

WOYWW lost and found

Sometimes I feel like an imposter if I drop by on Wednesdays with nothing to show except chaos ...

This is my mess and I can take a photo from any angle, but even I find this angle to be slightly disturbing, although I can't work out why this should be.
There's the previously lost box of Gelatos which has finally turned up. They were neatly placed at the very bottom of a large cardboard box with random knitting and wool on top. Very odd. Something else on my desk has only just reappeared too. I'm not saying what, but it comes under the heading of "Very Best Art Supplies to be Put Somewhere Really Safe" and it was, but do you think I could find it when I wanted it? Anyway, I'm keeping them both in plain sight for the time being :)

OK, so there's nothing of real interest to see above, but I did play with new stash (Ken Oliver's Color Bursts) the other day and it was rather fun. You could have a little look at the post below and see what you think :)

I'll visit some other desks later and hopefully catch up with you too. For all the details on how to join in with this Wednesday desk watching just visit Julia at The Stamping Ground.

I've just popped over to Sandra's blog and had to come back to show you what's on my desk. My "real" genuine, proper desk, that is :)   Now that's Serendipity, isn't it?

WOYWW journal, Gelatos and junk

Once again Wednesday rolls around and you know what that means ...

I'm just fancying up that pink sketch book journal with some nice paper and some diecuts. You can see some new Gelatos there as well. My original (larger!) box has been temporarily mislaid and I've stopped looking for them. They will turn up ... eventually. So I played with the new Gelatos (left) and remembered that I really like them and must make better use of them :)
Lastly, I think I "need" some Spectrum Noir markers, so have been studying the colour chart to see which ones I "need" the most :)

Have a good week and I'll catch up with you, sooner or later, via Julia's popular corner in blogland ... the Stamping Ground.

BTW, the "junk" refers to where the Gelatos could be buried, as in underneath said junk.

WOYWW new stuff, new techniques, new challenge

A bit of a mixed bag, today :)  You can see some new stuff, a Few Very Restrained Purchases, here

But here's what you came for  ...

There's a few background pages which I have sprayed with various mists and some stamping which I have fussy cut. The leaf and bird stamp are by Rubber Dance Art Stamps and I'm working towards an entry for this month's colour challenge which is based on those three colours you can see.
And the ATCs (bottom right hand corner) I have started using my new Gelatos! (see post below). They could well end up being WOYWW swaps :)

Hoping to catch you sooner or later, on your desk or mine. All the details for "desk viewing" can be found at Julia's Stamping Ground.

Oh, sorry, I mentioned new techniques, didn't I? Well, here's something I was playing around with last weekend ... the Bokeh technique ... very trendy at the moment :)

Am I late to the party?

... the Gelatos party, naturally. I know they've been around for a while now, but I don't normally rush out for the newest, "must have" product, until I've seen about a million other people buy and use it :)
Now, even though this is unofficially the "Year of Not Buying Lots of Stuff", when I saw Gelatos advertised at a local chain store for a great price, well naturally, I hit the ground running :)
So ... in the last few days I have accumulated a few things to make me very happy ...

Apart from the box of Gelatos, there's a new issue of my favourite craft magazine, four large
(50cm x 40cm) canvasses at $2.50 each!! and a $10 gift voucher for the local fabric/craft store.

Again, because it's the "Year of Not Buying Lots of Stuff", when I do buy stuff, I have to break it out straight away and use it, that's the rules :)

The Gelatos were used for all the background colours and then bubble-wrap stamped with Distress Inks. Nothing very exciting, but I do like them :)

WOYWW or what's happening around here

... well, not a lot.
A little bit of new stash ... a very restrained amount, really, hardly anything at all ...

just ... two journals, small packet of Gelatos (see, I was restrained - I could have bought the full colour collection), one Tombow (useful Lamp Black), Tombow colourless blender, three Gelly Roll black pens (who can't use black pens?), Faber Castell Glaze (which I'm hopeful has many uses) and the Judikins Diamond Glaze, also very useful (but so tiny I'd better figure out what it's very best use is!), and look, Tack N Peel which I am hoping will do away with the need for that sticky, icky stamp mounting stuff, you know what I mean, don't you :)

Anyway, that was the other day, so now I've just finished a quick birthday  card. It was only quick because I thought about it for a while instead of randomly pulling out endless paper and stamps, etc. How's that for a bit of forward planning :)

For all those lovely people who drop in on Wednesdays, if I don't catch you today or tomorrow, I'll almost certainly get around to visit by Friday. Have a good week!
WOYWW comes to you courtesy of Julia at the Stamping Ground.
